Dover Castle
Walmer has its own castle and gardens as well as Deal Castle close by. Dover Castle with its secret wartime tunnels is only five miles away. Take a walk along the famous White Cliffs of Dover or take a ferry across to France.
The cottage is situated only a few minutes drive (or leisurely fifteen minute stroll along the seafront) to the historic smugglers town of Deal, with its unspoilt seafront and high street shops. Many enjoy fishing off the pier or you can hire a boat.
Dover's white cliffs
A short drive will take you to the medieval town of Sandwich with its famous championship golf courses Royal St Georges and Princes Golf Club.
Canterbury Cathedral
The city of Canterbury is only 20 miles away with its Cathedral, Heritage Museum, The Canterbury Tales, plus many other ancient buildings. It has many excellent shops and the Marlow Theatre.
